In determining Maragon's 2010 school fees, great care was taken to provide a realistic budget, where increases in school fees were kept to a minimum without compromising quality.
Fees payable to Maragon Private Schools are divided into two types: School Fees, which cover the cost of academic tuition, and Educational Levies.
Fee Structure 2010:
Educational Levies 2010:
The levies system is a payment innovation made by Maragon from 2009: we have collected together myriad smaller amounts for educational outings, visiting drama groups, leadership camps etc, into a global sum, payable either upfront in January or divided over twelve months.
One of the primary reasons for doing so is safety: each small amount of cash brought to the school by an individual learner represents a risk of loss or pilfering; hundreds of such small amounts received and processed at the office become a large amount, which in turn poses more grave risks of serious theft and potential danger to learners and staff.
Furthermore, the intake and processing of small amounts for individual activities creates a massive burden of administration for parents, register teachers and office staff alike. Structured payment of these amounts as a single total serves to streamline the entire process.
Levies are calculated from projected costs for a variety of activities, particular to each grade. For this reason the amounts differ from grade to grade, in accordance with the relevant costs.
It must be noted that levies are not calculated to generate any profit for Maragon Private Schools: 100% of the each child's levy is spent on the listed activities for that child. Any saving that is incurred, or money not spent, is transferred per grade to the next year and is therefore taken into account when determining the 2010 levy.
Furthermore, Maragon exercises strict controls over the process. This includes several auditing procedures and vetting of funds drawn against the educational levy under the watchful eye of each Grade Tutor who in turn accounts to the Financial Manager and to the Maragon Board.
Please note that all sports tours, extreme sports and extreme adventuring outings are not covered by the 2010 levy. "Civvie's Days" and other charity collections are also excluded from the 2010 levy.
Regrettably, no exceptions or refunds will be processed for individuals, as administration is concluded per grade.
No payments per event will be accepted. ONLY monthly or annual payment options are available.
