DEBATE / PUBLIC SPEAKING

Our Maragon learners are affiliated with the SACEE debating league. The learners debate in various rounds throughout the year. In the past 3 years we have reached the provincial round and have also been ranked  in the top 5 schools in the region. Our senior and junior debating teams have both made it through to the provincial round this year. Maragon has without debate some of the best debaters in the West Rand!
 
Our learners partake in the Speech and drama Guild Public speaking competition every year. This is held in the first term of the year. The competition is held at various schools  where schools from all over the district compete for the top honours based on their performance on the evening. We also enter our top individual junior and senior inter house best speaker into other public speaking competitions such as the Morgan Ellis Public speaking festival.
