The Randfontein Arts and Culture Association (RACA for short) is an Eisteddfod that we use as a precursor to RAPS. Plays that were deemed worthy at house plays (at the discretion of the four teachers in charge) are taken to RACA. The director of the chosen plays will be the director for their respective plays and may choose the best from Maragon’s acting body. The Dramatic Arts class will also enter a play.
Educator involvement is limited to an advisory capacity, as this is a learner-centred activity.
The teacher in charge is Mrs Crawford, assisted by Mr Crawford, Mr Richardson and Mr Hansel.
Entries are not limited to Dramatic Arts only and all interested performing and visual artists may enter.
The RACA festival normally takes place in August and September.
