HIGH-SCHOOL
TENNIS

Charissa du Toit started playing tennis nearly 3 years ago. What started as just another sport became her all time dream...to play on the Woman’s Tennis Circuit internationally.

She plays for Maragon Private School 1st team and received for the last two consecutive years the Junior Tennis player of the year award. She is currently registered on South African Tennis Association (SATA) ranking list. This enable her to participate in official tournaments officiated by SATA. She played her first tournament in March 2010 and as to date participated in 13 tournaments. She started off being ranked 760th in March 2010 for girls under 16 nationally and spiralled to position 129th in May 2011 in the country. She was recognised by SATA as one of the Top 10 movers in SA over that period for girls under 16.

In June 2010 she was awarded her Gauteng West colours, followed by her Gauteng provincial colours in January of 2011. During March of this year she was selected for the Gauteng tennis squad that will be competing at the SA Summer Games in Limpopo during October 2011. In order to be in top form the Gauteng Squad trains at the University of Pretoria’s High Performance Centre regularly where she receives coaching from top national coaches.

She hopes to be in top form to compete in the official International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament for juniors, to be held at Ellispark in Johannesburg, later during the year.
