OUR SCHOOL NAME

MARAGON Private Schools

The name of our school is derived from the name of the owner, Mrs Margaret van Niekerk. Margaret comes from the Greek word Margarts which is derived from Maragon – a pearl.

OUR SCHOOL BADGE

Depicts an eagle which is symbolic of the Verreaux / Black eagle which is endemic to our region. This is one of Africa’s largest and most spectacular eagles

Our neighbourhood boasts a pair of breeding Verreaux/Black eagles. They are known to be one of the only breeding pairs of Verreaux eagles in an urban environment.
