Mooikloof Academic Programme

Academic Programme

We offer a wide variety of activities that our students can choose from

Blended Learning

Maragon Mooikloof is changing the face of education with our Mobilearn project.

The school follows a blended learning approach from Grade 8-12. With this collaborative way of learning and teaching, students are being taught skills of how to look for facts and to generate information.

We want our students to become makers and not simply be consumers.

Technology

Students use tablet devices for textbooks, tasks and assignments.

Technology Lab - a collaborative workspace where students can explore, invent and create. This space offers 3D-printing, laser cutting, robotics and engineering so that our students can fuel the fourth industrial revolution.

Wi-fi throughout the school.

Augmented and virtual reality apps in many subjects.

Two fully equipped computer laboratories.

Global Competencies and Inquiry Based Learning

We focus on developing every student to be a City Changer with the following skills: Collaboration, Creativity, Communication and Critical thinking skills whilst presenting these in a Christ-centred teaching style.

Flipped Classroom

To promote thinking, research and time management skills, we often use the flipped classroom method where students are encouraged to solve problems and use a variety of data streams as research to complete a given challenge. Students create new content themselves and do not rely on the teacher as the sole provider and presenter of information.

Olympiads

Annually, students have various opportunities to participate in Olympiads. Maragon Mooikloof offers the following:

  • Afrikaans First Additional Language Olympiad
  • Applications Olympiad
  • Mathematics Olympiad
  • World Knowledge Olympiad
  • Programming Olympiad
  • Accounting Olympiad
