Outreach | Grades / Passion
Passion programme: All grades
An annual outreach is arranged for each grade, where students get the opportunity to live out their Christianity by reflecting our values of: Knowing God, Loving People and Impacting the Future.
Academic Mentors: Pure Hope
In 2016, we identified a need at Pure Hope School. Most of the parents of the Pure Hope School cannot understand English and therefore are unable to help their children study.
We decided to give our students a chance to help the Grade 4s at Pure Hope School to study for their June and November exams. The students enjoyed it immensely and we are considering to continue with this act of kindness in the years to come.
Pointsman
As a sign of our gratitude to the pointsman close to our school, students take food to the pointsman every morning, and when possible, pray with him. At Maragon Mooikloof, we believe in loving people and we show our passion through this act of kindness.
Africa Outreach
Annually Grade 9 – 11 students embark on an outreach to an African Country. This two-week life-changing outreach, stretches through various countries. The heart of the outreach is to support existing ministries/outreaches to empower and equip the missionaries to continue their good work. This journey is not only for students to reach out to others, but to spend time introspecting and practicing the fruits of the spirit such as gratitude and thankfulness.
Leadership Development
Worldview Days
The demands on a lifestyle of integrity are increasing daily. The ethos behind our Christ-centred Lifestyle Programme is to equip students with knowledge, wisdom and godliness. A Christ-centred lifestyle can thus be reflected in their characters, leaving room for the Holy Spirit to facilitate a revelation of their identity and authority in Jesus Christ. We host individual Worldview days that are relevant to real-life situations for each grade.
CCI Leadership
The High School Leadership Development Programme is a 3-year training programme for Grades 10 to 12. The focus of the programme is to cultivate a holistic awareness of what leadership is, based on three different, yet complementary approaches:
• Worldview
• Authentic Leadership
• Eternal, Internal and External Realities
Our values, Knowing God, Loving people and Impacting our future, are evident throughout the three year programme. In our ever-changing world, we need to raise and equip the leaders of the future.
Student Council
Our Student Council consists of a combination of Grade 11 and Grade 12 students. They are nominated by fellow students and democratically elected by the school. The students are divided into 6 committees where they have the opportunity to serve passionately. They are responsible for leading the school across the board: spiritually, academically, socially and to assist the staff in maintaining discipline.
The Student Council arranges numerous activities during the year, as listed below:
• Valentine’s Ball
• Valentine’s Day
• Nerd Day / Night

Junior City Council
Pretoria has a Junior City Council. The Junior City Council is a non-profit organisation that serves the youth and community of their area. They organise a number of events to provide opportunities for the youth to interact, to take initiative and responsibility and simultaneously raise funds for charity. Maragon Mooikloof always has representatives on this council.
Grade Council
The Grade Council serves the school in their classes by supporting the Student Council, promoting their activities and keeping record of class participation. They also aid their mentor teachers with administrative tasks and post important announcements on their class groups. The students of each class vote in January and the selected students - one per mentor class - serve for the whole year.
Continuous Leadership Development | Grade Camps
Grade 8 Camp
The Orientation programme includes a camp where we build a healthy ethos and spirit within the grade group. This camp focuses on bringing unity, confidence and synchronisation within the group. These 3 days and 2 nights are also used to invest on a spiritual level and to confirm their identity in Christ. The mentor teachers, youth worker and Student Council accompany the Grade 8 students on this camp.
Grade 10 Camp
All Grade 10 students attend a leadership and teambuilding camp at the beginning of each year. The camp helps to develop each student to their full potential and to start building unity as the group matures and takes on more leadership responsibilities at school.
Grade 12 Camp
The last school camp for the matrics is a very special moment. The seniors of the school spend time bonding and developing the group’s unity. Deciding on a theme for the year, is an integral part of this camp. The camp is facilitated by our youth pastor, and takes place annually at the beginning of the year.
